Our Board of Directors is led by Rémi Dorval, and the general management of CGG is led by Jean-Georges Malcor, Chief Executive Officer. In addition, our strong, experienced leadership team is dedicated to setting the highest possible standards in all areas of our business, while delivering solid, sustainable results for the benefit of our clients, shareholders and employees.

The CGG group is organized around three Divisions including ten Business Lines and with six Corporate Functions and five Group Departments. Organization (Small March 2015)

Jean-Georges Malcor

Jean-Georges Malcor
Chief Executive Officer

Jean-Georges Malcor has been Chief Executive Officer of CGG since June 30, 2010.

He joined the company in January 2010 as President.

Jean-Georges Malcor began his career at the Thomson CSF group as an acoustic engineer in the Underwater Activities division where he was responsible for hydrophone and geophone design and towed streamer programs.

He then held a variety of global management positions at Thales before being appointed in 1999 as the first Managing Director of ADI, the newly formed defense and security joint venture between Thales and Transfield / the newly privatized Australian Defence Industry joint venture based in Sydney. Back in Paris from 2002, he was successively Senior Vice President of International Opera¬tions, Senior Vice President in charge of the Naval and then the Aerospace divisions, before his last position as Senior Vice President, Continental Europe, Turkey, Russia, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America.

Jean-Georges Malcor is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris. He also holds a Master of Sciences degree from Stanford University, and a Doctorat from the Ecole des Mines.

Stephane-Paul FrydmanStephane-Paul Frydman
Corporate Officer, SEVP, Finance & CFO

Stéphane-Paul Frydman is Corporate Officer, Senior Executive Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, a position he has held since 2007. He is based in Paris.

Prior to taking on his current role, Stephane-Paul served as Vice President Group Controller and Treasurer and previously held the position of Vice President in charge of corporate financial affairs, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, from 2002 to 2005.

Stéphane-Paul Frydman began his career working for the French Ministry of Industry, then for the Treasury Department of the French Ministry of Finances from June 1992 to May 1997, then as Industrial Advisor to the French Minister for the Economy & Finances from June 1997 to March 2000. In April 2000, he joined Butler Capital Partners, a private equity firm, as an Investor Officer.

Stéphane-Paul Frydman is a graduate of the Paris Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines in France.

Pascal RouillerPascal Rouiller
Corporate Officer, SEVP, Equipment and CEO, Sercel

Pascal Rouiller is Chief Executive Officer of Sercel, the Equipment Division of CGG.

He had previously been Executive Vice President for Equipment for CGG and CEO of Sercel since September 2005 after serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Sercel Group since December 1999.

Pascal was Vice President of CGG's Product segment from October 1995 to December 1999 and Vice President for CGG's Asia-Pacific region from May 1992 to September 1995.

Pascal Rouiller is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale Paris.

Benoît Ribadeau-DumasBenoît Ribadeau-Dumas
SEVP, Acquisition Division

Benoît Ribadeau-Dumas is Senior Executive Vice President, Acquisition Division. He is based in Paris.

Benoît joined the company as Executive Vice President, Marine, in September 2010.

He began his career as a civil servant in the French Public Administration, where he performed a variety of different roles, including two years (2002-2004) as a member of the French Prime Minister’s private staff, in charge of administrative reforms and decentralization.

In 2004, Benoît joined Thales as Corporate Development Director, in charge of group strategy, mergers & acquisitions and shareholder relations. He was then appointed as the head of two operational business lines, first as Managing Director of Air Traffic Management Systems in 2007 and, from 2009, as CEO of Thales Underwater Systems.

Benoît is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration) in France.

Sophie ZurquiyahSophie Zurquiyah
SEVP, Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir (GGR) Division

Sophie Zurquiyah is Senior Executive Vice President for the Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir Division.

Based in Houston, she joined CGG in February 2013.

Prior to this position, she assumed the role of Vice President of Sustaining Engineering, in charge of a global organization supporting all commercial products and technologies at Schlumberger.

Sophie began her career by joining Schlumberger in 1991 as a geophysics engineer and held a variety of positions in Engineering and Manufacturing in France and in the United States before becoming General Manager for the South Latin America region, based in Rio de Janeiro.

Back in France, she took the position of Human Resources Director for Oilfield Services at Schlumberger headquarters in Paris and then became Chief Information Officer, responsible for global Information Systems and IT services between 2007 and 2009. She then moved to Houston where she was appointed President of Schlumberger Data and Consulting Services from 2009 to 2012.

Sophie is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris and holds a Master of Science in Numerical Analysis from the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6), as well as a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado.

David DragoneDavid Dragone
Executive Vice President, Human Resources

David Dragone is EVP, Human Resources, a position he has held since April 2013. Based in Paris, David leads CGG’s HR Corporate Function which assists and advises CGG management in their missions of developing the women and men of CGG, designing and implementing organizational changes, and supporting the business and its employees. Prior to this appointment David served as SVP, Talent Management & People Development.

David began his career working for Schlumberger where he held various HR positions over a period of seven years, ranging from his first assignment as Compensation and Benefits Analyst to his last assignment with Schlumberger as HR Director for the EMEA region and for the all the Product Centers of WesternGeco.

He then worked for Areva for six years, where he held the position of VP, HR, first for its Mining Division and then for its Front End Division.

David graduated with a Master’s in Economics from Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a Master’s in Human Resources from Paris Assas University.

Béatrice Place-FagetBéatrice Place-Faget
Senior Vice President, General Secretary & Group General Counsel

Béatrice Place-Faget is Senior Vice President, General Secretary & Group General Counsel since September 2012.

Béatrice joined the company as Vice President, Corporate Legal affairs in 2002. She has been Group General Counsel since 2010.

Before joining CGG, she worked as a lawyer for France Cables et Radio (France Telecom Group) from 1995 to 2000 where she specialized in contracts, M&A and corporate law. She then joined Eridania Beghin Say in 2000 as senior lawyer specialized in corporate law and M&A and was also General Counsel for Cerestar (starch industry), one of the companies resulting from the demerger of Eridania Beghin Say.

Béatrice holds a Doctorate in English and U.S. Business Law from Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a Master of Law in common law studies from Georgetown University Law Center (USA – Washington DC).

Don PhamDon Pham,
Executive Vice President, Geomarkets Sales & Marketing

Don Pham is Executive Vice President, Geomarkets Sales & Marketing.

Don joined the company in 2002 in Houston as Imaging Director of Subsurface Imaging division. He was appointed Vice President of Subsurface Imaging for CGG Asia Pacific Region (APAC) in 2007, based in Singapore. He then became Executive Vice President in charge of Services for CGG APAC region. In 2010, further to CGG reorganization into business lines, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Geomarket Director for South East Asia where he focused on joint ventures to secure long-term market shares for CGG and integrated projects.

Don started his professional career as a geophysicist with ExxonMobil. He joined Petroleum Geo-Services in 1997 as Global Research Manager.

Don is a graduate from Amherst College with Magna Cum Laude in Physics and Mathematics. He also holds a Doctorate degree in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). He is a holder of seven U.S. patents in seismic technology with topics ranging from velocity analysis, multiple suppression, migration and multi-component.

Thierry BrizardThierry Brizard
Executive Vice President, Technology

Thierry Brizard is currently Executive Vice President, Technology, and Chief Technology Officer, a position he has held since he joined the company in October 2010.

Based in Massy, he coordinates Research and Development and Technology activities across the group.

Thierry started his career in the Underwater Activities Division of Thales in 1980 as a sonar engineer. He then held a variety of technical and management positions at Thales before being appointed in 1997 as Technical Director of MIDSCO, an international military communications joint venture in the US. In 2000, he took a break in his Thales career and created his own company XIOS in Switzerland, to exploit one of his patents and develop a low-cost navigation system for divers. He returned to Thales in 2002 where he held the position of VP, R&D, first in the Air Defense Division, then in the Naval Division in 2007 and finally in the Land Division in 2009.

Thierry Brizard graduated as an engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris (ENST) in France.

Kamil BeffaKamil Beffa
Executive Vice President, Global Operational Excellence

Kamil Beffa joined the company in 2014 to lead the Global Operational Excellence function which covers Business IT, Global Sourcing & Supply Chain, Facilities & Properties, Quality & Performance and Trade Compliance.

Prior to joining CGG and the seismic industry, Kamil was SVP, Distribution Segment, within Lafarge Innovation Department. He held a number of top management positions within Lafarge over a ten year period, both in the company’s strategy, supply chain and innovation functions, as well as operational roles such as the general management of Lafarge cement activities in Serbia and in China.

He started his professional career with Total as a drilling engineer and a stimulation engineer, both on rig sites and based in Dubai.

Kamil is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and holds an MS degree in Economics from the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS).
