Content

The concept of reservoir geophysics is relatively new. In the past, the role of geophysics was largely confined to exploration and, to a lesser degree, the appraisal of discoveries. In recent years, however, geophysics has been increasingly used as a tool for refining development strategies and improving production efficiency. Fundamental to this approach are the availability of good quality seismic data and well control, and the integration of rock physics data from petrophysics and engineering studies.
