Deterministic Reservoir Characterization with the Jason Workbench

Audience

Geoscientists or Reservoir Engineers who want to start working with Jason software, or for those who want to learn more about Acoustic Impedance and Simultaneous AVO/AVA Inversion

Content

Through a combination of lectures and exercises on a 3D Gulf of Mexico data set, participants will learn how to:

• Load and QC data in Jason Workbench for Acoustic Impedance and Simultaneous Inversion
• Perform a feasibility analysis to verify that the data is suitable for this technology
• Tie wells, build low-frequency models, and estimate multi-well wavelets
• Select and test parameters and generate elastic property volumes with InverTrace Plus and RockTrace
• QC the elastic property volumes
• Interpret these volumes in terms of reservoir bodies, facies probability and net pay

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will acquire the ability to perform Acoustic Impedance and Simultaneous Inversion projects with basic settings and QC analysis. Through practice and experience, participants will be able to implement the inversion workflow and interpret the results independently. Thereby, the participants will learn to leverage full advantage of InverTrace®Plus™ and RockTrace® functionalities and capabilities.
