West Texas
Make informed drilling decisions with CGG’s multi-client data
CGG continues to expand its West Texas library with over 3,000 square miles of data coverage across the Permian Basin, one of the most prolific areas in North America. Gain valuable insight with high-density, wide-azimuth seismic data and advanced reservoir characterization packages.

Central Basin Platform
Our time-lag FWI resolves near surface and deep velocity complexities in West Texas's Central Basin Platform (CBP). CGG's high density 3D survey provides great insight into shallow hazard identification, and delivers unprecedented high resolution imaging of structural basin intricacies.

Avalon
The 2022 Avalon Reimaging program, with CGG’s exclusive time-lag FWI processing technology, delivers a detailed, geology-conformed, velocity model. The 2022 final PSDM stack reveals true structure in the deep section, provides improved structural definition throughout, and shows consistently better well-ties when compared to legacy data. The 21Hz FWI image provides extra reflectivity information.
Avalon is located in the prolific Delaware Basin in West Texas. Contact us for a preview of the dataset.

Gini
We have four data sets located in the Delaware Basin, with the most recent of these being Gini, a 481-square-mile 3D survey acquired using advanced broadband EmphasSeis™ sweep and 3C multi-component sensors. The Gini survey was designed to be wide azimuth to provide superior imaging of multiple geological formations of the Permian age. With a low-frequency bandwidth beginning at 3 Hz, this data set provides enhanced low frequencies that will improve inversion products for reservoir characterization. The data has been processed through an amplitude versus offset and azimuth (AVOA) compliant sequence and is suitable for geomechanical reservoir analysis.

Hobo Depth Merge
Our northeastern projects, located in the Midland Basin, include the Hobo and Gypsy surveys as well as the Hobo Depth Merge. This volume is made up of four surveys merged and processed together using advanced workflows, creating a 658 mi2 data set that delivers striking imaging of meandering channels and unique geological structures throughout the survey area.

Leoncita Merge
CGG has also purchased rights to Leoncita Phase 1 and 2, near the Alpine High, located in the southern part of the Delaware Basin. These surveys have been merged and reprocessed in both the time and depth domains, targeting multiple formations of interest. This 157 mi2 data set provides impressive imaging results for a better understanding of the complex structure associated with the alpine high in this prospective area.
Products and Processing Highlights
- Deliverables include a 5D offset-vector-tile (OVT) pre-stack time migration and a Kirchhoff tilted transverse isotropy (TTI) pre-stack depth migration
- Stand-alone Hobo and Gypsy surveys also offer a full Reservoir Package, including seismic reservoir characterization volumes, RoqSCAN core/cutting mineralogical analysis and interpretations from CGG’s geoscience offerings
