Sercel, 13th November, 2013
Sercel has sold another 3,000 channels of its industry-leading UNITE cable-free land seismic acquisition system to Paragon Geophysical Services Inc., after having already sold 1,500 to the Kansas-based company earlier this year. Paragon was one of Sercel’s first UNITE customers and this recent order brings its total installed base to more than 12,000 UNITE channels. The UNITE system is fully compatible with both Sercel’s existing 428XL cable acquisition system and its recently announced new-generation 508XT system, which combines the best of both wireless and cabled acquisition technologies.
Both orders this year relate to the sale of RAU three-channel units of Sercel’s UNITE system which allow the recording of either 1-C or 3-C analog data. As a member of the UNITE family, the RAU eX-3 offers an unprecedented level of flexibility and quality control for exploration in the most challenging environments by allowing real-time data transfer as well as long-range, high-speed wireless harvesting capabilities.
Jeff Logan, VP Operations, Paragon Geophysical Services Inc., said: "Paragon recently purchased RAU eX-3 units to integrate with our existing UNITE recording systems. We selected the RAU eX-3 units for their flexibility. They allow us to utilize fewer batteries in the field, with lower power consumption per station when used in a three-station configuration, or alternatively can be used to record analog 3C data. The RAU eX-3 allows us to place the boxes and batteries back away from roads and hazard areas, reducing visibility and exposure while retaining the benefits and ease of deployment of a cable-free system."
Pascal Rouiller, CEO, Sercel, said: "We are pleased that Paragon has once again selected Sercel as their trusted partner for cable-free acquisition. This repeat order confirms our success in addressing the cable-free market and rewards our commitment to consolidating our position in North America. We thank Paragon for their continued support, and we are confident they will continue to achieve success with their UNITE range of cable-free equipment."
