North West Shelf JumpStart Integrated Project

CGG has produced a comprehensive regional study on the North West Shelf (NWS) of Australia, leveraging extensive multi-disciplinary internal resources, which will enhance understanding of Triassic paleogeography and petroleum systems to aid exploration.

Basin Map

This integrated view of the total depositional systems in a geodynamic context allows progressive de-risking of these exciting emerging plays.

Key Objectives

The North West Shelf Integrated JumpStart Program encompasses the Northern Carnarvon, Roebuck, Browse and Bonaparte basins to develop an enhanced framework of the Triassic paleogeography and petroleum systems, establishing evidence for the presence of thermally mature, Triassic oil-prone source rocks.

Geoscience Database

The study combines data reviews and new analyses of samples from the North West Shelf, including:

  • Basin evaluationSchematic
  • Seismic interpretation
  • Paleogeographic reconstruction
  • Petroleum system analysis
  • Geochemistry
  • Basin modeling
  • Paleogeography
  • Sedimentology
  • Biostratigraphy
  • Palynology
  • Detailed core descriptions
  • Petrography
  • Automated mineralogy
  • X-ray Fluorescence (XRF)
