In collaboration with the Instituto Nacional de Petroleo (INP), CGG has just completed acquisition of 15,400 km² of high-quality 3D seismic data over the Beira High in the Zambezi Delta, offshore Mozambique, in advance of future licensing rounds. This is the first survey to be completed following the agreement CGG signed with INP to acquire up to 40,000km² 3D and up to 6,500 km 2D seismic data. The seismic survey will be complemented by a JumpsStart™ integrated geoscience program to accelerate understanding of the petroleum systems in the area.
The seismic data will be processed through a state-of-the-art deghosting and broadband imaging sequence, including Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) velocity modeling, to create a PreSDM volume. A fast track PreSTM data set is available and the final PreSDM data will be available in Q4 2019.
Gravity and magnetic data will be acquired with the seismic and integrated into the subsurface imaging to constrain the results.
The JumpsStart integrated geoscience program will draw on expertise from CGG’s Multi‑Physics, Robertson and NPA Satellite Mapping, to review, calibrate and interpret all the available seismic, well and geologic data. All the information for a comprehensive understanding of the petroleum systems in the area will be available in one place. Deliverables will include:
