The Trilogy Project is CGG's vision to provide seismic datasets applicable to every phase of the pre-salt evaluation process, to complement our Campos II and Santos VI-B BroadSeis™ datasets. Our trilogy of projects includes: Galaxy, an extracted 3D migrated grid, Constellation, reprocessing of legacy datasets and Santos VII (Saturno), a new BroadSeis survey.
Galaxy is an affordable 3D migrated grid covering an area of approximately 34,000 km² extracted from CGG's Cluster and Cluster Extension surveys, on a 5 x 5 km grid (Cluster) and a 10 x 10 km grid (Cluster Extension). Galaxy was designed to provide a quick regional evaluation of the Santos Basin in anticipation of Brazil's next pre-salt licensing round.
Constellation is a 23,753 km² reprocessing project designed to upgrade the Cluster and Cluster Extension surveys. Constellation uses the latest processing algorithms, including 3D de-ghosting, bandwidth extension and TTI full waveform inversion (FWI) model-building. This is complemented by our Brazil Pre-Salt JumpStart™ project which integrates the seismic with all the available well and geological data to provide a single source of information in a consistent easily -accessible format.
The Santos VII BroadSeis survey has just been acquired and covers an area of 13,900 km², including the highly prospective Saturno prospect, a major pre-salt opportunity with no 3D coverage to date. It will form a bridge linking the Constellation reprocessed datasets to the existing Santos VI-B and Campos II BroadSeis surveys, proving around 80,000 km² of contiguous broadband coverage through the Santos and Campos Basins. The first fast track products for Santos VII Phase 1, covering Saturno, are available with final data expected in January 2018. These will deliver the first 3D images of Saturno using FWI technology, in anticipation of future licensing rounds in this major pre-salt exploration area. Fast track products for the whole area will be available in October 2017, and final products for the complete survey, including the extension, in June 2018.
