Model building is a vital part of seismic processing and imaging. The main parameter to be modeled is seismic velocity, for which exist a wide range of tools including TomoML multi-layer tomography and Full Waveform Inversion (FWI). Modern acquisition designs facilitate, and the latest migration algorithms demand, the modeling of a variety of anisotropic parameters and dip estimates. Q tomography provides models of geological anomalies which distort amplitude and phase. Salt bodies require specialist modeling to derive the external shape along with any internal structure.
