Multi-Physics Capabilities
Falcon AGG
The Falcon® Airborne Gravity Gradiometry (AGG) family of technologies has been jointly developed by CGG and Lockheed Martin over the last 20 years. This has led to the only AGG instrument that is specifically designed to deal with the rigors of high resolution data collection in a dynamic airborne environment and the only one to be used commercially in a helicopter. Accessing large areas of land quickly, safely, and efficiently our Falcon® systems allow you to make exploration decisions with confidence.
FALCON Plus is the newest release in the highly successful suite of FALCON systems. Multiple improvements enable FALCON Plus to deliver half the noise of the FALCON system. In addition, it provides 20 times better spatial resolution (150m vs. 3000m) and up to 10 times higher accuracy (0.1 mGal vs. 1.0 mGal) than conventional airborne gravity. FALCON Plus exhibits a minimum sensitivity to air turbulence and routinely covers in excess of 2,000 km2 per week in a fixed-wing aircraft. This translates into very rapid data acquisition, compared to ground-based gravity acquisition.
HeliFALCON™ represents the finest gravity data that can be collected in the air, and is the only purpose-built airborne gravity gradiometer (AGG) system deployable on a helicopter platform. HeliFALCON flies lower and slower, providing a superior signal-to-noise ratio and better resolution for detailed target mapping. It enables the collection of high-resolution, accurate AGG data safely and rapidly.
Fixed Wing EM
CGG Multi-Physics offers you a choice of in-house designed and manufactured fixed wing EM systems. Why? Because your geology deserves a no-compromise approach to exploration. Covering large areas quickly, and collecting multiple datasets, our fixed wing EM systems can be the workhorse of your exploration or mapping program.
The Tempest® fixed wing TDEM system’s square transmitter waveform lets you image geology from the near-surface to moderate depth. Covering large areas quickly, let our TDEM systems be the workhorse of your exploration program.
Helicopter EM
CGG Multi-Physics offers you a choice of proprietary Helicopter EM systems which range from the high resolution and shallow, to the powerful and deep, and everything in-between. Our R&D efforts have allowed us to derive IP data from Helitem®, and even add near-surface sensitivity to our deepest-seeing tools with Multipulse™.
Helitem® Time Domain EM provides both depth and sensitivity when imaging your targets. It’s the highest-power broad-spectrum time-domain electromagnetic helicopter system in the world, and offers three measurement axes (X, Y, Z). It has base frequencies as low as 7.5 Hz for deep resistivity imaging, which means Helitem can now image the Earth’s resistivity to greater depths than other systems, while retaining resolving power throughout the section due to its innovative transmitter waveform.
Resolve® and Dighem® Frequency Domain EM systems provide the highest resolution and sensitivity of any airborne electromagnetic system on the market, giving you the very best in near-surface conductivity measurements. Resolve® is configured with the broadest range of frequencies, offering sensitivity to the broadest range of resistivity values compared to any other available airborne EM system.
Grav-Mag
Our airborne fleet is capable of carrying airborne gravimeters, airborne gravity gradiometers, electromagnetic systems and magnetic systems; this includes both fixed wing and helicopter platforms.
Offshore, we have over 20 years’ experience in collecting, processing, and interpreting marine gravity and magnetic data worldwide. Our modern acquisition systems, and dedicated staff, allow you to acquire marine gravity and magnetic data in conjunction with seismic surveys as an aid to interpreting complex geology. Furthermore, CGG is able to collect gravity and magnetic data on vessels that are doing coring studies or performing bathymetric surveys.
The value of integrating multiple geophysical and geological datasets is at the core of the Multi-Physics philosophy. When this is combined with the efficiency of collecting gravity and magnetic data in conjunction with your seismic, or from a an airborne platform, it allows explorers to continue pushing the boundaries of discovery despite the tough realities of our industry.
Imaging
Multi-Physics Imaging has the largest and most diverse non-seismic presence in the industry. As part of the wider CGG strategy we are able to provide integrated, flexible and high-end imaging solutions.
Using proprietary software, we specialize in the analysis, inversion, and interpretation of multiple domain data. Through the intelligent use of data driven inversions, our focus is on generating geologically reliable solutions to geoscience problems.
The LCT Suite offers 2D and 3D modelling for potential field data for salt studies, depth-to-basement modeling and the creation of realistic geological models. MagProbe allows you to determine the position and orientation of magnetic sources to help determine the thickness of sediment, or presence of volcanics.
