Meet Our Experts

Javier Martin
Javier has over 11 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He’s proficient in basin analysis for hydrocarbon prospectivity evaluations and prospect and lead generation. Javier’s a specialist in using and manipulating various geophysical and geological data for subsurface evaluations. He has proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams to reach financial targets and establishing sales and business strategies. He has worked in the geotechnical sector, performing SPT, DPSH, and well-drilling characterization, and is actively learning data manipulation methods (such as python programming and SQL) to optimize data analysis.

Thomas Obidairo
Thomas has over 20 years of experience in the search for oil and gas around the world. He started his career in the UK with Digicon as an offshore Processing Geophysicist in 1997, working offshore in Europe, and North and South America. He transferred over when Veritas merged with Digicon to form Veritas DGC, and in 1999, Thomas moved onshore, where he held various technical positions. Thomas undertook an Executive Master's program in Business Administration (MBA) at the Kingston Business School, UK. Upon completing his MBA in 2005, he moved to Veritas DGC's marketing team to help develop its business effort in the African region. In 2007 Thomas moved to Schlumberger's IndigoPool group to help build their Acquisition and Divestiture advisory service. He spent four years before joining CGG's Earth Data team in 2011. Thomas is now the VP for EAMEK and APAC, where he continues to develop CGG's multi-client seismic portfolio with successes that can be seen throughout the region.

Chris Anderson
Chris is Director of Sub-Saharan Africa at CGG. A 30-year veteran of the Geophysical Exploration sector, Chris has worked offshore in seismic acquisition and on-board processing before moving into the multi-client seismic business, where he has developed projects and run the business P&L in SE Asia, Latin America, and Africa for various global companies. Chris has also worked to promote and commercialize multiple new technologies in the field and is always interested in new and better solutions to improve exploration outcomes.

Emmanuel Nformi
Emmanuel is a Geoscientist by training and explorer at heart. He spent the initial years of his career in the New Ventures department working for an Operator, exploring oil and gas on the African side of the Atlantic Margin (spanning from Mauritania, Morocco, all the way to the Equatorial margins of the Niger Delta and the Douala/Kribi-Campo Basins). His passion for finding sustainable hydrocarbon resources continued as he joined CGG, working on projects in Africa, the Caribbean, and South America. Here he transitioned into full focus on engaging African governments in the sustainable exploration of energy resources. Being fluent in English and French, he has been very pivotal to the smooth running of CGG relations with the governments of Cote D’Ivoire, Gabon, Mauritania, Cameroon, and Namibia, amongst others, in the current role of Business Development Manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa group.
